Gaited horsesI don't understand why gaited horses are not more widespread. It seems like there's no significant downside and plenty of upside. Allegedly in the middle ages, they cost 10 times what a non-gaited horse cost, but the costs seem approximately equivalent nowadays. In particular, Tennessee Walkers seem to have a wonderful gentle personality (OK, I'm biased). Gaited horses are not simple - it's akin to driving a manual/stick shift car, rather than an automatic. I'm still a beginner, working with my 6 year old Tennessee Walker, Thorn.
